Today we watched a video with Rachel of a child having an outburst. It looked a lot like her behavior, and she stared and stared, even after the video was done.

We asked her what she was thinking, and she said “about the spiders in his brain and I have them too.”

Anyone else’s kids try to communicate what they’re going through when they lose control? How do you decipher it to help them?

  1. That is a great idea to tape them going through an outburst. Maybe it helps them to describe what is happening during the phases of it. We are going through some tough emotional times here the last few days, and I have been looking for a way to work through it with him. Thank you for the idea.

  2. It really worked to have her watch a seizure and help her take her safety and meds more seriously as well. She had no idea what went on during a seizure! I hope things smooth out for you, we’re right there with you!
